Welcome to Capiz

Capiz is belonging to one of the five provinces of Panay Island, Western Visayas. Capiz is Located at 86 kilometers east of Kalibo, Aklan, 375 miles southwest of Manila, 136kilometers northwest of Ilo-Ilo City, once a part from early Malay settlement known as Aklan. It is consisting of 16 municipalities; I chattered city and 472 barangays. Its capital Roxas City is the center of trade.

From rolling lands and hills to mountain peaks and ranges are where the Capiz’ topography varies. The economy is basically agricultural with Palay, corn, coconut, vegetables and sugar cane as principal crops. And the rest of their cultivated area’s are devoted to fishponds, livestock and other minor crops.

A captivating blend of colorful history and natural beauty marks this beautiful province of Capiz. The hospitality of the people matches with the grandeur of nature’s wonder, delicious sea foods and indigenous foodstuff, traditional dances, songs, crafts and vestiges of history.

Facts about Capiz:

Roxas City Capiz is the birthplace of president Manuel Acuna Roxas, the first president of Philippine republic. The travel time to Roxas City is 45 minutes by plane and 16 hours by boat from Manila and it takes 2 hours from Ilo-Ilo and 3 and half hours from Caticlan. !4 hours by Ro-Ro (roll on – roll off) from Manila if you wish to travel by bus.
